The nouns – flowers and balls can be counted and are called Countable Nouns.
Common nouns and collective nouns are countable nouns.
My plate is full of rice.
The liquid has fallen.
The nouns rice and liquid cannot be counted and are called Uncountable Nouns.
‘A’, ‘an’, ‘a few’, ‘several’, ‘many’, ‘some’, ‘‘plenty of’, ‘a lot of and ‘a large number of’ are words which are used with Countable Nouns.
‘A little’, ‘much’, ‘some’, ‘plenty of’, ‘a lot of’, ‘a large amount of and ‘a great deal of are words which are used with Uncountable Nouns.
‘A’ and ‘an’ are words which are not used with uncountable nouns.
